Call for Artists
The Waconia Chamber of Commerce is seeking 20-25 artists in a variety of mediums for a
sailboat sculpture project we are doing in conjunction with our Sesquicentennial Celebration in
2007.
o Artists will complete an application describing how you would complete a sailboat
sculpture measuring approx. 5’ tall x 5’ long x 3.5’ wide. (See attached artist application
and drawing of sailboat).
o Artists will be given credit on the sculpture itself as well as in a commemorative book we
will be publishing in conjunction with this project.
o Artists must make arrangements to pick up the sailboat in Waconia, MN on February 17,
2007 and return the completed sailboat to Waconia, MN on May 1, 2007.
o Artists will be paid a stipend of $750 upon completion and return of the sailboat.
o Artists selected for the project will be required to sign a contract. (See attached copy)
