Minnesota Stories presents: mnartists premieres simultaneously on mnartists.org and mnstories.com on Friday, November 3, and continues every month through April 2007 with illuminating video profiles of artists around the state. The series offers a glimpse of how the artists work with and are supported by various arts organizations related to their work.
Scott Stulen is a painter, installation, and video artist whose work explores personal and collective memory, pop culture, and the Midwest. He is the Curator of Education the Rochester Art Center and an adjunct professor at the University of Minnesota. And? He's an all-around nice guy not afraid to combine humor and sincerity in his work.
Chuck Olsen is the founder of Minnesota Stories, hailed as one of the best videoblogs by the New York Times. He is also the acclaimed producer and director of Blogumentary, the first documentary film chronicling the rise of political and personal blogs. Formerly a Senior Web Producer at Twin Cities Public Television, Olsen now serves as the Minneapolis correspondent for the famed Internet newscast Rocketboom. As an up-and-comer whose work has garnered attention across the country, Olsenís films have screened at the Walker Art Center, Harvard University, and on renegade laptops all around the world.
