Episode 220, Some Assembly Required

Click the title above to listen!

Episode 220 features 15 tracks by artists such as Go Home Productions, Grateful For The Dead, I Cut People, The Illuminoids, Negativland, John Oswald, Peanut Butter Wolf & DJ Design, Splinter Test, Steinski, Carl Stone, Donna Summer, The Tape-beatles, team9, Think Tank and Wax Audio. Check it out HERE.

The opening track this week is an excellent mashup by The Illuminoids, mixing classics by Bauhaus, Beck and Devo. It took a while to grow on me, but now I can’t get it out of my head! Another standout is by an artist calling himself I Cut People. I was a little put off by the name at first, but once I took a listen, I realized the name refers to the fact that his primary thrust involves cutting up recordings of people talking. That’s right up my alley, and I thoroughly enjoyed the record. He has a few records actually, and we’ll be profiling I Cut People in the near future at the SAR Blog. For now, check out this week’s episode for a track titled, “So Wrong/What.”

Thanks for listening!
