The success of mnartists.org is rooted in the strength of its community of artists, both on and offline.  For the last several years we have invited mnartists.org members to assist in staffing our booth at the Minnesota State Fair.  Through this opportunity hundreds of mnartists.org members volunteered their time and talents, while promoting mnaritsts.org to the thousands of State Fair visitors annually.  We are grateful for every volunteer who has supported us in the past and thank you for service to the local art community.  

While the State Fair has been a popular and incredibly successful opportunity we felt it was time to change.  We wanted to create a new and exciting event for our members to participate.  After careful consideration mnartists.org is taking a break from the Minnesota State Fair to focus on the first mnartist.org Field Day- a FREE day-long cross disciplinary event throughout the Walker Art Center campus on August 27^th, 2009.    mnartists.org Field Day will include literature readings, music, games, organization booths and opportunities for volunteers to promote mnartists.org and their own creative practices.  We again invite you to consider volunteering your time and talents to assist us with this event. 

 We look forward to your help in making the first mnartists.org Field Day an enormous success.

Call for Volunteers:

Come help out with in the mnartists.org Field Day at the Walker Art Center.  We are looking for volunteers to help out with the festivities.  We are asking you to volunteer 2 hours of your day to help out with field day.  If you have any questions please email Will at info@mnartists.org

We are looking for volunteers to help with most aspects of Field Day.  Here is a list of activities for Field Day that we are looking for volunteer assistance with. 

• Staffing the mnartists.org table at the .org Mall
• Staffing the mnLIT Picnic
• Greenspace Games Assistance
• Artist Photo Assistance
• Other programming that will be announced

We will also be looking for volunteers to provide help with other activities. 

Volunteers are encouraged to bring promotional materials of their work and/or any other organization for the public to see.  Those materials will be on display in the .org Mall. 

Volunteers are encouraged to sign up on a Greenspace Games team to join in on the fun.  Invite your friends to come join the Games, it is free and will be a good time!

All volunteers are invited to the Walker Art Center for a Volunteer Meet & Greet on August 4.  mnartists.org staff will be there you provide any and all answers to questions you may have and provide you with specific information about Field Day.  (The Meet & Greet is optional)
