The Precious Object brings together 14 artists from locales throughout Minnesota in the inaugural exhibition of mnartists.org's ARTmn visual arts series, presented in partnership with the Hennepin County Public Library
Karl Unnasch is an artist tucked in the bluffs of Southeast Minnesota. He graduated from Winona State University and received his Masters Degree from the University of Massachusetts - Dartmouth respectively. He has exhibited his work nationally including the Fuller Art Museum, the Rochester Art Center, Mass MOCA and Varnish Fine Arts. He has participated in several residencies including the St. John's Pottery and Sculpture Space and has been selected as a Kohler Artist in Residence. He runs Standard Issue Cast Metals, which is an art foundry retreat for artists in his rural Southeastern Minnesota studio. Karl will be co-curating New Taxidermy, an international group show which will open at the Plains Art Museum in Fargo in the fall of 2010.
