Episode 147, Some Assembly Required

Episode 147 features our 2006 interview with The Freelance Hellraiser, along with seven tracks by the artist. Check it out HERE.

Our first full length interview with an original bastard pop artist, Episode 147 is a feature on the mashups of The Freelance Hellraiser. His 2001 release, “A Stroke of Genius” is one of just a few tracks credited with starting the UK Bootleg scene. In fact, his name was so mixed up with Bastard Pop, in general, that for years many notable mashups by other artists were attributed to him, simply because the mp3s were being traded back and forth by people who just assumed he must be the author. Check out episode 147 for a bit of clarification, and a lot more information about this front running mashup artist.

Be sure to check out the SAR Blog, at its new location: www.blog.some-assembly-required.net. You’ll find Q&A’s with over 150 of the artists we play weekly on Some Assembly Required, along with countless archived episodes of the show. You can find this week’s episode there as well. Check out Episode 147 HERE.

Thanks for listening,
