Soap Factory seeks a Development and Data Intern. Deadline March 10, 2013.

Internship start date: March 27th 
Internship end date: December 20th 

Time Commitment: 
• 20 hours per month on average 
• Flexible schedule, but will include regular meetings with Associate Director 

The Soap Factory is the third largest contemporary art gallery in Minneapolis/St Paul, and one of the largest devoted to emergent practices in the USA. The Development and Data Internship provides experience in a highly valued field, while granting insight into non-profit development work at a premier arts organization. 

This intern will work with The Soap Factory’s Associate Director and other staff members to collect and manage important data about our donors, volunteers, and alumni. In addition, they will work directly with the Associate Director to expand our individual donor campaign, research prospective donors, and assist in grant writing. 

General Development work: 
• Research funders and potential sponsors 
• Assist in grant preparation and writing 
• Work on individual donor campaign 
Development Database: 
• Support the migration of donor, volunteer, and alumni data to a new system 
• Analyze data to get a clear understanding of our current donors, as well as potential donors 

Experience and Requirements: 
Education: Must possess an undergraduate degree or be currently studying towards an undergraduate degree in art, art history or arts administration. 

Experience: Must be fully proficient in MS Office. Attention to detail and strong organizational skills are requirements for this position, as well as the candidate’s adherence to deadlines. 

Software: (Some training provided) MS Office, Google Docs, FileMaker Pro. Must have reliable daily internet/email access. Experience with CRM (Customer Relationship Management) software is a plus, but not required.
