The City of Atlanta Public Art Programs: Office of Cultural Affairs and Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport are conducting a Joint Call for Entries for the Public Art Artist Registry. Registration will be conducted online from November 14, 2005 through January 16, 2006. Selected artists will remain on the registry for a minimum of three years and may be short-listed for projects at one or both programs. Typical public art budgets range from $5,000 to $1.5 million.
The artist registry is used to solicit major and minor public art commissions, design consultants and direct purchases of artworks for the City of Atlanta and the Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport. The artist registry may also be used by arts organizations, community groups and private developers to identify artists. The City of Atlanta and the Airport has acquired art from hundreds of artists through the artist registry process.
All materials must be submitted in digital format through CaFETM at www.callforentry.org <http://www.callforentry.org/> . All professional artists who are residents of the United States especially those with previous public art experience, interested in site-specific commissions or those who have involved community members in their work, are invited to submit an application. Artist may submit alone or as a team. The Office of Cultural Affairs(CA) and the Department of Aviation (DOA) encourage artists working in all visual art disciplines to apply, including but not limited to, sculptors, painters, muralist, mosaicists, photographers, videographers, printmakers, animators, light and sound artists, graphic designers, conceptual artists, etc.
