Jelloslave

Jelloslave is a cello and drum quartet with an eclectic repertoire ranging from Bach to Led Zeppelin to their own improvisational & jazz-influenced compositions. Jelloslave features cellists Michelle Kinney and Jacqueline Ferrier-Ultan, along with drummer Greg Schutte and tabla player Gary Waryan.

After graduating from Yale University with a Master's Degree in performance, Jacqueline Ferrier-Ultan has collaborated with world-renowned jazz, new music, and rock artists including Anthony Cox, Bill Carrothers, Dan Wilson, and Andrew Broder. Jacqueline currently performs in three unique and acclaimed projects; Jelloslave, Anti-Gravity, and The Fantastic Merlins. The Fantastic Merlins debut CD "Look Around" made the 2007 Official Grammy Awards Ballot in the category of "Best Instrumental Jazz Recording." Also a dedicated teacher, she is on the faculty at the Macphail Center for Music and the Minneapolis Community and Technical College.

After completing graduate school at NYU, Michelle Kinney recorded, performed and toured internationally with some of the most respected innovators in new music today including Henry Threadgill, Butch Morris, George Cartwright, and Steve Tibbets as well as recording with Natalie Merchant, Sheryl Crow, John Cale and Richie Havens.

She co-founded the artist-run music label, Sugarfoot Music which produced the Compilation CD “For New Orleans” including Grammy winner Dan Wilson, Natalie Merchant, Indigo Girls, and Jeff Buckley among others. All of the profits benefited the Habitat for Humanity Musician’s Village.

Jelloslave’s debut CD is titled “Touch It” and they are due out with another CD of live recordings in late spring.
