Experience
For me, it seems, the flowing line or form is the most interesting, essential element in nature as in my art -their confluence or the tension betweenlines or formsinspires my work. A brief synopsis of me and my art: I realized my ability to visualize and then actualize at the age of 10yrs. It was a revelation and motivated me then as it continues to do 55 years later. I followed this ability, taking all the visual arts courses offered through high school and majored in Fine Art at the U of Mn. For several years I then dida starving artist thing, painting and drawing and moving back into sculpture. The sculpture eventually led me into the medium of wood and a craft which would support me. I created a multifunctional support vehicle: a 'gypsy wagon' on a bigtruck,This was housing, transportationand advertisment ofmy designing and woodworking skills. I found work in custom woodworking projects, contracting as a builder, and always was designing or redesigning what I built. I also did some drawing and painting in those years, and stained glass became another exciting medium for me. Eventually, I phased out the contracting and for many years now, havehad residential architectureas my profession. In recent years, I have done more and more painting and drawing too. I organized a professional level picture framing studio and offer this service at substantial discounts. I was raised in Minnesota, moved to New England for 23 years and the S.W. and Sierra Nevada for 12 years, now have come full circle and relocated to myfamily homestead in 2007. I am now in the process of seeking out the arts community in the Minneapolis area and am finding some interesting people and their works.
