JANET SKIDMORE is a trained dancer and choreographer and has taught extensively in Minnesota and in her native Chicago area. She is also an educator who has been on the North Dakota, Minnesota, and Illinois Arts in Education rosters, and she is affiliated with Young Audiences of Minnesota. Her one woman show, "Marie Taglioni is Not a Dish of Pasta, OR, Modern Dance: From Toe Shoes to No Shoes" explores one dancer's journey in relationship to the history of modern dance. It has been called an excellent introduction to the art of dance for junior high school students (and their parents and teachers). While still very much available as a dance educator, in her own performing Ms. Skidmore has recently started exploring her lifelong love of singing. Folk, musical theater, and experimental vocal work are all in her current palette of song forms.
