Experience

Curt Lund is a graphic designer, freelance writer, spoken word performer, arts nonprofit marketing manager, found media artist, art museum tour guide... what all these have in common is what Curt loves best: combining visual arts and the written word in interesting ways.

Curt's mixed and found media artwork has appeared at the Minneapolis Public Library; the Minneapolis Institute of Arts MAEP gallery; great local galleries like Artrujillo Gallery, Altered Esthetics, Susan Hensel Gallery and Stevens Square Center for the Arts; the Twin Cities GLBT Pride Festival art show; summer art crawls in both Twin Cities; a solo show at Acadia Cafe; and in some great collections right here on mnartists.org. Curt doesn't have a body of work so much as a basement of work.

Also a comedy writer and performer, City Pages has declared Curt "(one) of the Cities' brightest talents" and "deliciously geeky". His literary work has appeared on stages, pages and airwaves including Minnesota Public Radio, McSweeney’s, CBC Radio, the Minneapolis Geek Slam, KFAI Radio, Northstar Storytelling League's Tellabration! 2008, Fray Day, Spirit in the House, GLBT Pride festivals in three states, and countless other cabaret and open-mic performances across the Midwest and in glamorous faraway destinations from Vegas to Vermillion.

With performing partner Laura Bidgood, Curt has co-created numerous critically acclaimed spoken word storytelling shows, including four full-length productions for the Minnesota Fringe Festival. Curt is also a founding member of the Twin Cities' own Rockstar Storytellers.
