Short Biography
Bill Hendricks is an artist and educator. Bill is a native Minnesotan but has spent a considerable amount of time living both in Los Angeles and New York City. He is a new media artist and his art includes printmaking, photography, video and interactive installations. His art is in the permanent collection of the Frederick R. Weisman Art Museum Minneapolis and a number of private collections throughout the United States. His work was included last October in a group show titled, The Intimate Gallery, which questioned the existence of a collective consciousness, in Minneapolis at Gallery 148. Most recently his work was seen in a show titled, Visual AIDS, Postcards From the Edge in New York City at The Robert Miller Gallery.
Bill finds great reward as an instructor as he works with his students. Since 1998, Hendricks has taught graphic and web design at Minneapolis Community Technical College. In 2001, he and his students received the Collaboration Award for Collaboration with Social Agencies. from the Community College National Center for Community Engagement. Recently, Bill received the 2006 College Faculty Award of Excellence in the form of a research grant to evaluate how best to assess affective learning as it relates to aesthetics and beauty in a post-modern environment.
Bill Hendricks holds a BS in Business Administration/Marketing from California State University Dominquez Hills, Carson, CA. Bill has studied art at the Art Students‘ League, NYC and the School of Visual Arts, NYC. He earned his MFA in Interactive Media from Minneapolis College of Art and Design, Minneapolis, MN.
