Deborah Ramos is a multi-media artist. She creates ceramic sculpture, photographs, installation art, mosaic murals and recently, Mexihca (Aztec)-inspired paintings on bark-paper.

Deborah received her B.F.A. degree from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities and has exhibited work at various galleries that include: the Minneapolis Institute of Arts, the Mexican Fine Arts Center Museum, the Mission Cultural Center for Latino Arts, the C.N. Gorman Gallery, and also performs with In the Heart of the Beast Puppet and Mask Theater.

In 2001, Deborah collaborated with Mexican and local artists on the creation of the Mosaic of Americas mural in Minneapolis. In the Fall of 2010, Deborah's "masked dance" multi-media performance, Zenteotl: First Corn Energy, in collaboration with In the Heart of the Beast Theater, will premiere. The performance will highlight the origins of corn and its profound relationship on Ixachilanka (the "American" Continent). Deborah worked as coordinator (2006-07) of the "Espejos" mentorship program for emerging Chicano/a, Latino/a and Mexicano/a artists at Intermedia Arts. Currently, she is a Family Liaison and after-school program instructor at a Minneapolis public school. Deborah has recently been awarded a Minnesota Center for Book Arts/Jerome Fellowship (2008-09).

Deborah is a Mexihca (Aztec) dancer, and is originally from El Paso, Texas and has lived in the Twin Cities, Minnesota since 1993.
