Experience
JOE NOREEN has been an active photographer since 1997, exclusively utilizing the archaic 35MM black and white method. He is an autodidact and attended the university of his own brain. His photographic intent has always been to compose pulchritudinous images that are surfeited with as much personal significance and sensorial resonance as reality will allow. His current work is predominantly comprised of multifarious pieces, the grouping of two or more images to illustrate tableaux of trenchant emotional themes and experiences. Frequently described as a “cinematic” style, the works tell stories and convey moods by the thematic content and aesthetic configurations of the images involved. The intended result is a body of poignant, oftentimes unsettling, yet always honest visual translations of human emotional experience.
JOE NOREEN also performs and records musically as Auspice (utilizing electric guitar/violin/voice) in addition to being a poet (having recently completed the manuscript for a collection entitled "Sensorial Fortnights In Hell.") He also starred in two Sam Thompson films, most notably the new Vegans vs. Werewolf feature, "Living Arrangements."
