I was asked to make a cross for 1st Lutheran Church in Columbia Heights. I designed the cross to fit the space in shape and texture. There are two main parts to the piece. Firts is the carved cross which is held out 4 inches from the background cross which has a facing two inches off the blue-grey background which is cut around the shaped of the carved cross. All the wood is oak which was salvaged from the old church. The dark sections of the carved cross are leather insets.
