I love anything having to do with Don Quixote. Dulcinea was his dream Lady in Waiting, and wait she did. He first had to perform his duties as Knight Errant, knocking down windmills and rooting out evil wherever he found it. Again, an intuitive painting. What I really like about this watecolor are its quietly muted colors, reminiscent of a 16th century portrait of Sor Juana Inez de la Cruz, one of Mexico's primier female writers.
