This Earth of Ours is composed of upcycled materials. The base is made from an old printing press operating handle. The plaque was created from a silicon wafer chamber and the foundation of the globe from old corn planter plates. The geographic features utilize nails and a fire extinguisher canister. The base with its blue accents represents the need for clean water to sustain life, the metal plaque base though nondescript echoes how technology is prevalent in our lives and its effects on the environment. The corn planter plates symbolize how agriculture impacts the world environment. Lastly the use of the fire extinguisher canister for the continents reflects the need for everyone to take a part in protecting the environment.
