Leather Koi Fish Scrapbook Album. Handcarved Koi Fish swim around a Stained Glass Yin-Yang on this grand sized leather scrapbook album. The Koi have been built from 10 layers of binders board, and patiently carved with razorblades. White deerskin and orange lambskin wrap around the Koi and are accented by copper wire. The cover base is stretched in blue deerskin, framed with turquoise and deep purple deerskin along with teal lambskin. The stained glass Yin-Yang window is composed of soldered leading around clear and smoked textured glass. The interior of the window is framed with teal lambskin. Copper wire swirls over multiple levels of individually wrapped leather waves. The Koi Scrapbook Album features thick acid-free white and dark blue pages handsewn around five binding cords seen under the black spine leather. Each page has been handripped to create a curved descending deckled edge. Along the spine of the leather scrapbook you will find a copper coiled pagemarker including a cowry shell coral bead. Three silver beads are wired onto the front cover on the peak of each wave, in addition to one on the rear cover edge. The back cover features two raised panels with carved swirls and three inset copper wires accented over black, teal and purple leathers. Handmade orange banana leaf paper has been applied to the inner covers as endsheets, viewed through the stained glass Yin-Yang window. The headbands, stitched into the spine edges, are comprised of leather cords wrapped with blue and orange thread to protect the spine edges. The cover hinges are reinforced with a double layer of 55 lb tensile strength fabric to ensure heirloom quality and durability.
