My first full-length collection of poetry that was used to explore the journey of Lao American refugees in diaspora in the Midwest and Minnesota through the lens of science fiction rather than mainstream narrative techniques to subvert and circumvent shortcomings in expressing the refugee experience in conventional documentary efforts. It led to my NEA Fellowship in Literature and recently marked 10 years since publication.
