Back in 1983, Patrik received a less than enthusiastic letter from EMI Records in Sweden. The gist of it was that they would feel a whole lot better about the demo tape Patrik sent had it been sung in Swedish. A typical sentiment in Sweden in those days. English was a non-starter.
Rather than waiting for the tide to turn, Patrik moved from Sundsvall, Sweden to Minneapolis, Minnesota and continued to write and release eight solo albums in English. Until now.
På Svenska finds Patrik back where it all began: Sundsvall, Sweden. Over the course of fifteen sparsely arranged songs we will get acquainted with the girl across the street, the neighborhood bully and other people, living and dead. The album paints a picture of a Sweden that has perhaps ceased to exist. It lives on in the album På Svenska.
