Twisted town is a collection of works inspirated by fantastical architecture in literature, film and dreams. Just like in magical realism fantastic element is just a step away from reality. All this rooms an
d buildings on the outside can seem pretty normal. Like all those cities too will seem like any other, until someone gets lost deep inside the labyrinth of their streets. But their architecture although it's build upon rules of humans, will “exist” by it's own set of rules. It will be alive, moveable, confusing, mysterious, unstable, illogical, disturbing, fluid, threatening, secretive, endless. One will breathe or make some noises, the other will maybe spread and shrink by itself. In any case it will never be just a wrapper of a event, it would be the event or it's begining.
In my works I'm also dealing with modes of
fantastical mapping of space. It's very importmant for me that the spectactor sees that space in a completely different way and to expirience the some different emotions, which the space wouldn't provide by itslef, without my fantastic intervetion, which often includes a prose framework.
Chronicals of dreams/ Milica Denković
She didn't even notice the cut, because it happened somewhere deep inside the labyrinth of her brain, not in physical reality. Someone had reconnected all her expirience of the reality and connected it again with dreamlike logic. The product of this kind of joining was some weirdest compounds and interesting combintions. She can, suddenly, look at the city, in the way she dreams about it, with all peculiar/strange things and twisted details that dreams bring along.
