Clarissa Odin is a current graduate student at Minneapolis College of Art and Design with a concentration in painting. She graduated with her BFA from Knox College in 2015. In her portraitrue, Odin captures the multifaceted and complex nature of her subjects. Through her art, Odin feels prompted to question the conventional portrayals and categorizations of people that are publicly perpetuated and established as the norm. The visual representation of women has been an ongoing topic of concern to her. Odin strives to construct a connection between the individuals that she paints and current social realities and injustices that exist.
