well, i decided that i should get the ball rolling in this forum, and what better way than to discuss One of Minnesotas most popular music stations? personally, i think that the creation of the current was a very, very good thing on MPRs part, so kudos for that. the music they play varies greatly, a lot of it i like, and its a whole lot better than mainstream such as KDWB or B96 in my opinion. Also, ive heard from several people that the current was made for teenagers. This may be true, but in my opinion a lot of the music that the current plays is not only limited to the youth. For example, the morning show has some very "adult" music, such as classical, folk, all of those genres that are stereotypical "older people" music(not trying to offend anyone with the old people thing). Also, the trend continues throughout the day, with some more different genres coming in to take the part of others, then at night, it repeats again, going into more lively and active "night" music, which can be dance, some indie rock, etc but the music that adults would listen to is always being played at one point or another.

Well, theres my opinion on the status of the current. So what do you think? is it a station for the youth, the adults, or for all audiences?

Let me help you out kid: There is too much "music" on the Air, and it all sounds the same all over the world. For it to get interesting it needs to made by people to go back and master all of the "roots" of "great" music and then start from there; most of the fans will not recognize it for a while and it will have to be underground; e music in broadcasts that go out to e misic clubs. That is wha it will take.

commerical ( all broad cast meida must be "commercial" because it is funded by it's commercial buyers) music will never be interesting until it has fans.
