Correction, that was the Funeral March for the Minimal Man. And I'm the one posting his work all over the place for you to be responding to! You'd think I was his agent or something. No, just a new fan. And I'm not often a fan...

Was just going through the new Collection of sculptures at the State Fair when I ran across this, Hinderk by Kyle Fokken: http://www.mnartists.org/work.do?rid=9207

I remember I had seen some if his work at Art-A-Whirl and liked it then but this work is specifically quite fine.

I am very glad to hear this!!!

I think I have the makings of an intersting proposal for
Kyle and you and a unification of his materials with your fabication and design skills. It would involve working with me in the role of a socio/multicultural - art philosophy advocate----the aesthetic of the community informs the artists.

ps.....>>> ;< = I am very happy that you are considering working with the need High School a stones throw from you Dad's "studio"--- Art as an alternative to negative and self distructive means of self expression is marketable to the new 3 Rs mentality because it gives high IQ rebelious personalities like yourself a "place" to fit.

A movement of Monumental Youth Sculpture(well fabricated) would really shake up the Art community and put You and Minnesota on the Map( even if you migrated between Texas and Minnesota).

Let us know when you and your wife are in town and we have you over for Tex- Mex food.

Hi
Have any 1 driven on Excelsior Bld from HWY100 going eastbound??
Infront of a gaz station when you get close to France Ave, there are couple of sculptures depicting a dog and a motorcycle made out of found/salvaged car/bike/motorcycle parts... I just tought it was a great sculpture. The natural rust give the sculpture a rustic look yet, very natural and artistic... like in a drawing made with dry pastel.

If you happen to drive by there, let me know what you think about it...
