Hello Everyone!

Well I seemed to have opened a whole can of worms. I had no intention of stifling anyone’s discussion. The reason for the lock on the thread was that the conversation seemed to be at a pause, and I thought it was a good opportunity for the conversation to relocate to a bright and shiny new thread.

I will be returning the thread to its previous location and will continue there.

I am also creating a feedback thread about forum changes in the News & Announcements Forum so you all can let us know what you thing of the ongoing forum evolution.

Its too bad that typed responses in a forum only convey the words of the individual, not their intention. I ask all of you to keep this in mind as the changes to the forums continue: All of this is being done with the intention of making the forums MORE inclusive and easy to use.

Cheers
Will

Anytime you lock out a string, a thread, you stop the discussion. You need to spend some time going back to the beginning of the threads and read the history that is here. When Ray sites that historic conversations exist here, he does not fully inform you that they continnue. I know that you believe yourself to be of greater intelligence than those of us who are regulars here. You probably believe that your side of insiders are more intelligent, more informed, more educated than we are. But let share my knowledge with you. We regulars have created unique community in the internet. That was the intention of the forums. Go back and look at the words put out by the staff. We have applied tremendous energy and creativity to these threads. Sadly instead of being acknowledged as artists we have been assulated by those who can not manage to capture the attention of lurkers. This is not the first time the "staff" has tried to take back the forum space for thier own self serving agenda: to support the rest of the site's features. Frankly the "editorial acume" is not up to the taks of providing really interesting material to drive ongoing conversation in the forums. It is just a fact Wil. See for yourself; read the coyote threads from the beginning. I know you do not have the time; but make the time if you are going to white wash what one Minnesota Artist is doing with what the McKnight foundation and Walker Board are funding. The purpose of the site is to advance our careers. Jaime Longoria has done exactly that. I would say I have done it better than any other artist. You see Wil from the start I realized that the forums are the key to being seen outside of our state. The articles are just more of the rubbish that is "published" on the e. The public does with it as they do with magazines; puruse and dump. But the forums are like live debates; without rules. It is facinating for some people who really want think about art to watch these. Lurkers follow thier interest. They following interesting Posters. Don't believe me; Read the Coyote threads. it is all there.

It is always the case that people think they can start a new thread and that it will be better; vanity my friend; it is not the thread but the exchanges that drive interest.

This is a mistake; people will let you know in any thread when you screw up. To try to contain it with a complaint form is silly and immature.
The is not ladies tea party with "ediquette rules". This is forum. Read a little history about free forums. What makes the Forums special is that it is a "free space". Restrict it and you will embarrass all of Minnesota as a state where "Artists" censor other Artists.

Learn to use your words with care. You are an educated man. Didn't you have a fourth grade teacher just as I did. Mrs. Bassy taught me to be careful about what I wrote. She said what say into air is soon lost, but what you pen Mr. Longoria you are father to....Learn to write what you feel Wil; Read MAS. Gabe is a brilliant writer of the fealling of a working and working artist. He can teach you how to emote into the forum. There is none better. Take the time read and learn Will. You will be a better man for it.

I ask all of you to keep this in mind as

Ecluding those that are here for those that you want to be here is the worst kind of Racism any man can practice. Call your mom Will ask her about the displacement of the Native People to make the West a more inclusive space. Get it will.

The line that there exists those people who want to be here but are afraid of others here is just Racist. It is White people who feel uncomfortable on Lake Street who call for the removal of "them".

I am them. I am them all over the world Will.

For those persistant lurkers; my apologies. Please understand that I simply though it good manners to give the "new" approach and formatt time to succeed in creating an opportunity for all of "those others" that longed to speak up here in the forums to in fact have thier say without "fear" of the Coyote nipping at thier heels!

Please be aware that this media is truly powerful in giveing "outsider artists" such as Chicanos a real venue to gain national and international visability. Case in point a patron from long ago found me on the "forum" and from there went to my mnartists.org site and then emailed me. We had a nice chat; and then she laid the bombshell on me; she and her husband donated the whole set of works in thier collection to the Art Museum that has opened in my home town. The city was very excited to recieve the work of one of thier own. They had assumed that I had died!!!!
The works were added to the collection of my mural drawing for the project that I did in 1980. The currator told my patron that the "mural" had been very important to the other young (then) muralists that followed me; specifically the "flying lowrider car"!!!!!

That Sam is how you create a "school" of art; your work inspires others!!!

Well, since the vast horde of "Minnesota Nice Gutless" will not step up and represent our artists community that leaves the job to the "lone diverse voice in Minnesota".

The Coyote's goal this year is to take the "Minnesota Nice Racism" battle to the dinning room table of key decison makers. The amplifly the "communication" on the net about real and significant Art issues.

So Lurkers look for my "pachangas" a couple of times a week as I hope to be rather "well fed" in the comming months!!!!!

Congratulations on your recent recognition for a life time of success. Quite a howl that they assumed you were dead.

I do remember being notified that a dining room collaboration would occur with Minnesotas "most innovative" artists. I anticipate knowledge of the composition of this panel.

Right now, i am assumed dead too.
