Though not strictly a grant, the Rome Prize deadline for visual arts is November 1st. An 11 month stay at the American Academy in Rome with a stipend of around $21,000. Spouses and children welcome. Good luck to all:

NEW YORK, NY ? Deadline: March 15, 2004

In the spring of 2004, Creative Capital Foundation will accept proposals for its 2004-05 grant cycle supporting the work of individual artists pursuing innovative approaches to form and content in the visual arts and film/video. Grants for performing arts and emerging fields will be available in 2005. To apply for a grant, artists must first submit an Inquiry Form, which will be available February 16, 2004 on the foundation?s website at http://www.creative-capital.org. I wasn't yet 25....

I applyed to the Creative Capital Foundation that year, 2004-2005.
It was for a project to use stereoscopic video at the pillsburry mills. It was a very well writen and innovative plan. I called it "Media Flight Plan". I was going to shoot from a powered gliderchute.

I'm sure it was the most innovative approach to form and content in film/video they got... I'm confident about that. What DID they fund that year?
