Artists in the Stevens Square neighborhood, just south of downtown Minneapolis, are forming a neighborhood arts cooperative which will include new art studio spaces at 1905 Third Avenue.

There are about 14 rentable rooms - ranging in size from 68 to 416 square feet - and a large open space area (use to determined by the coop at some future time). Monthly rental prices will from $30 to $250. There are also 1-2 rooms that are suitable primarily for rental as storage space.

Come and see for yourself! The studio space will be open for viewing every Tuesday night, 6:30-7:30pm, through August and September.

We are beginning to take reservations and are shooting for a move in date of either September 1st or October 1st, depending on how quickly the rooms fill up!Enter the studio space from the door to the right of the Third Avenue Market entrance.

And if you want to get in on ongoing discussions about the cooperative, join the new e-group devoted to the subject:

I am interested in studio space with approximately 400-500 square feet. I am a watercolor artist and have a kiln and woodworking equipment. I spend 20 years making props for the Guthrie and Children's Theatre. Please let me know what is presently available. Is this building the old Northrup King building?

I'm looking for some space at lease 1000 sq ft to work on some projects. I will be mostly woodworking so dust and noise are a consideration. Mostly working evenings and weekends. Nothing fancy required, no windows just a decent path to get materials and projects in and out. I may be willing to share with right person. I may be willing to share equipment with qualified co-occupant. I need to find space by early Nov. or sooner Please leave a mes. a my cell# 612-598-7494 or reply here.
