Fargo Library seeks submissions for ‘Northern Narratives’ writing project
The Fargo Public Library is seeking submissions for its “Northern Narratives” third annual winter writing project for adults and teens age 13 years and older. Selected submissions will be included in the library’s North Dakota Collection.
Submissions will be accepted online only through March 4, 2019 at https://fargolibrary.wufoo.com/forms/northern-narratives-2019. All rules and guidelines for the project are available on the library’s “Northern Narratives” webpage.
Material selected for the print publication will be announced in the spring and all submissions must be original, unpublished, proofread, and edited works. All entries are final and stories will not be returned. The selection committee reserves the right to withhold publication at their own discretion. Chosen selections shall be subject to “first rights” copyright. Any future publication, unrelated to the Fargo Public Library, shall require appropriate attribution. The contest categories are:
Short Stories: 1,500 – 6,000 words
Essays: 1,000 – 2,500 words
Poems: Fewer than 750 words
