The First Annual Performance Festival on Friday, August 25, 2017. It will be an exciting event with the entire gallery full of live performance art. ARC is seeking a wide range of performance art pieces.
The evening will showcase diverse performance art that will presented throughout the three-hour evening. ARC is expecting to have durational performances, on-going and timed performances throughout the night. There will be an event schedule posted in the gallery, on-line, as well as in a printed program for artists and visitors.
Examples of performance art includes durational performances, timed performances, start and stop performances, dance, sound, music, cabaret, interactive, or a combination of all the above. If you believe you have an art performance to share live at ARC Gallery, you are encouraged to apply. This is a great opportunity to share with the art community the power of live performance art. Applicants are required to send a video clip of their performance, no more than 3 minutes, photographs of their performances or any other visual means to best convey your performance concept. If applicants are planning to perform this art piece for the first time send a detailed storyboard of the predicted performance, practice footage or any other visual means to best convey your performance concept. Performers must estimate the amount of space they need, the time from start to finish of their performance, and any necessary materials they will be using for their length of the performance/illustration. For example, will there be objects that have to be installed prior to the performance and how long will they stay that night? Will you be adding objects, paint, paper, etc. to the space that will stay the rest of the evening or will it be taken away as part of the set up/take down of the performance? All this information must be as clear as possible to be considered by the Jurors at ARC. A floor plan is provided at the end of this call.
