Please pick a topic that relates to your life, yet connects with a larger community, the nation or the world. What deeply matters to you? Themes can include, but are not limited to:

Illness (Physical or Mental)
Other topics at our discretion
Be a United States citizen or a permanent legal resident
Be 18 years of age or older
NOT be a staff member or a board member of IACA (relatives of such are also disqualified from applying)
1st Place ~ $300.00
2nd Place ~ $200.00
Both the 1st and 2nd place winner will have their work published on our website for National Poetry Month April 2018.
We require a non-refundable reading fee of $20.00 payable by credit card. This helps make the review of your work possible.
The deadline for submissions is 11:59pm CST on Thursday, March 1, 2018. We encourage you to submit before the deadline, so that we may assist you if you encounter any issues. Winners will be announced the 3rd week in March 2018.
