LOVE vs. FEAR - Call for submissions

CRAFT Northeast is proud to announce open submissions for its 2nd Annual art show. The call for submissions is open now through August 31, 2019, and is open to all art forms. The show will be November 8-10, 2019.

This year's theme is LOVE vs. FEAR.

For centuries, wise people from a wide array of faith traditions have seen FEAR as a rival of LOVE. Martin Luther King Jr. said, "The old remedy for fear was great armaments. But how futile. It is only love that will solve the problem." Yet, leove is not necessarily the first instinctual reaction.

"The opposite of love is fear, not hate." Yoko Ono said. Fear is an essential primal behavior bent on survival that occurs in our modern world in unexpected ways. Deep in our genetic programming we have the algorithm to trigger fear without notice.

"Love Not Fear" has become the mantra of many movements. We invite you to process this tension through your art and submit a piece to join the conversation of our curated show.

The Mill City Art Show is a juried exhibition produced by CRAFT Northeast and Mill City Church and connects artists to a wider range of patrons and buyers, supports artists professionally by selling their artwork, and further helps the Twin Cities arts community flourish even more.

All donations at the door will benefit Inverted Arts. To submit your work, go to for more information. Submissions close August 31, 2019.
