Ceramic Tile Manufacturing Company—Mercury Mosaics!
We're an awesome group of hardworking creatives and makers. We manufacture the most amazing handmade tile in the world, from scratch, using all American materials. We work hard and like to have a drama-free environment and so we only hire good people.
We're a part of the Northeast Arts District and like to set a good example by showing how organized and successful artists can be. We support each other's artistic and personal goals and we bring our dogs with us to work sometimes.
Duties: Host classes of 10-15 students, teach them how to safely cut handmade ceramic tile pieces using tile clippers, glue them down to MDF boards with proper grout spacing to create beautiful and functional mosaics, and give a grouting demonstration. Give studio tours, set up before class and clean up after.
Shifts are 6 hours long.
Classes will most often be scheduled on Saturdays, with some scheduled for weekday evenings for special events.
No previous experience required, we will train you.
You must be organized, literate, friendly and able to do basic math.
Detail-orientated and able to follow directions is a must!
Application process will include various math, IQ and personality analyses.
This position involves A LOT of heavy lifting, bending, warm working environment at times and the applicant must be physically able to handle this and be on their feet all day. You must be able to lift 50 pounds. Must love dogs.
