Parkway Pizza Emerging Artist Grant

Opportunity

Parkway Pizza

As underdogs that started a neighborhood pizza joint on a wing and a prayer 13 years ago, Parkway Pizza knows that chasing your dreams requires fearlessness, hard work, and, yes, actual cash money. We see the value of art and creativity, as well as the struggle that goes into making it happen. Need funds for art supplies? Help with studio rent? Want to take a trip to find inspiration for your next series? We want to help!

We’re pleased to announce the first Parkway Pizza Emerging Artist Grant, designed to help artists out with life and art, no strings attached! Well, a couple strings, but they're good strings: Along with a cold hard cash prize, the winners will be invited to hang an exhibit of their work at one of Parkway’s neighborhood locations AND create an artist-designed pizza recipe to go on our menu for the run of the show.

Three grants will be available to emerging artists in the state of Minnesota; schooled or self-taught, young or old. We just ask that you identify as an "emerging artist" — meaning you’ve got your sights set on a professional career in the arts and have a bit of experience under your belt, but are not yet widely recognized or considered established. Essentially, if you’re in a place where a few extra bucks will help you elevate your art game, this grant for you.

Grants will be given in the following amounts:

$1000
$500
$500

HOW TO APPLY:

E-mail [email protected] with the following info:

- 6-8 images of your artwork (sized no larger than 1000 pixels on the longest side)

Recipients will be chosen on merit, style, and overall pizazz by a jury of local art professionals including: Robyne Robinson (Principal, fiveXfive Public Art Consultants), Krista Anderson-Larson (Director, CIRCA Gallery), Dr. Brenda Kayzar (Collaborative Strategist, Urbane DrK Consulting). Administered in collaboration with Parkway Pizza and NE Minneapolis-based curatorial firm, Bishop/Iverson. Recipients will be notified in January 2020.
