Arts R Alive in Webster City, Iowa has an opportunity for an artist or artist team to create a permanent work of public art to be located in a public location in the city. Possible locations for the permanent piece will be on the website artsralive.org. after January 21st. You may also go to webstercity.com to see a map and read about Webster City.
Public artists from throughout the Mid-west are eligible, however there are minimal travel reimbursement funds.
The Arts R Alive Committee is looking for a letter of interest that identifies the artist’s qualifications. That would include but is not limited to a resume, work samples, web site, and pictures of work.
The Arts R Alive committee will choose up to 3 finalists. Each finalist will be paid $350 to prepare concept and sketch drawings of the proposed piece and provide a detailed budget.
Finalists will present their proposal to the committee on June 5, 2019 between 4-7 p.m. in Webster City, Iowa either in person or via Skype. Motel accommodations can be paid for one night and up to $100.00 is available for travel.
