I am an emerging visual and conceptual based artist. My work consists of paper, fiber assemblage, collage, ink and graphite drawing, sculpture, apparel and costume design. I am compelled by humor, words/phrases that can sum up feelings, moments/time, and the bittersweet. Moments in time that may have been forgotten. I am interested in statements and messages regarding the cultural climate of the world that are meant to create pause and thought and to bring messages and ideas into the world with my artistic eye and voice. As I question the conceptual elements that are involved within my sculptural work, I work with paper to form thoughts and space through collage and drawing. For the past 9 years I have been actively working as a visual artist, installation artist, fiber artist, shoemaker, designer, book maker, curator and gallery director. I treat each medium and practice with the equal focus and attention order to express myself creatively through many different mediums. I incorporate shoemaking into my work as a sculptural avenue, a skill that I have taught myself and with my knowledge of patternmaking I create functional conceptual pieces.
