  • This is an open improvisation with nothing but a title. It is another recent example of the mastery of my work and practice. For this performance I passed out little mirrors for the audience to use. I offered to all the opportunity to interact with me and the "dance" using themselves, the mirrors and/or sounds. What transpires is the affect of me and my engagment with anything available in the moment. So much is available: the space, its landlord, tenants, its temperature, light, relative…
  • Because of my mastery of facility with improvisation and creativity I was asked to begin the piece dancing in a "chosen" or predetermined movement vocabulary. This vocabulary was developed with the choreographer and then improvised in the moment of its performance. In the second part of the clip I, again was asked to improvise within the vocabulary and "structure" of the piece and its' attending states of emotion, story, and presence.   • This is a duet of improvisation set in a score with choreography. The excerpt shows a few moments of the richest  improvisation in the piece. I was allowed to improvise in the choreograpy. Places to be in space and dancing with another in the duet are some of the choreography. The exerpts show the places in the choreography where I was able to "open" up the improvisation to the fullest extent.

    This is an improvisation danced through a score or structure. Three emotional states were part of the structured score as well. Vanessa wanted me to move in relationship to my emotional states. So within the frame of emotion I danced the states of feeling restricted or afraid or assaulted by an "imposed' (real or assumed) ideology/system/culture as represented by light, sound, space, and costume.
