I am predominantly an oil painter. My paintings are explorations of light and color found in nature. I have chosen copper and metal as a ground for my paintings as a way to enhance the radiant quality that draws me to my sources of inspiration.
Each painting is a process of meditation and discovery, my way of connecting with and honoring the sacred, fleeting moments of the earth’s cycles. There is an inherent beauty in this natural, constant state of change.
In recognizing the transitory cycles of both self and the earth, my paintings are as much inner landscapes as they are outward depictions of color, form, space and light. The copper ground accentuates a luminous glow and sense of spirit I find present in all living things.
