Biography

I am a painter, dabbling in watercolor.  I enjoy experimenting with various painting surfaces, including paper, Yupo, Terraskin paper, and silk.  I call my process of painting on silk, “Threads.”

My paintings in the “Threads” series, are watercolor on silk, with added fibers; including silk thread, metal thread, yarn, wire, old jewelry, beads, etc.   I do mostly hand sewing, but also some free motion machine sewing.  My stitches are purposely, imperfect... I stitch on the front or the back... there are many knots,and cut threads...  

I go into a painting, thinking about color.
