VALT (Visual Arts Literacy Training) is the entry level arts course offered to youth ages 8 yrs-22 yrs. at Juxtaposition Arts. It is a 12 week course that covers fundamental drawing and design techniques. Its curriculum is based off of college level intro to drawing courses and serves as a training program for Juxtaposition Arts paid apprenticeship program. My responsibilities include recruitment, teaching and youth engagement, communicating with families of participants, and designing the curriculum. The course is offered four times a year.

Job Description: Assisted in instruction in photo-lithography, etching, photo-etching, screen printing, and digital processes. Worked closely with undergraduate students to strengthen technical skills while reinforcing a strong conceptual and critical engagement to their work.

I have taught several classes or workshops in a variety of disciplines including Screen printing, mono-printing, aerosol art, mural painting, and Textile screen printing. Participants ages range from 6 yrs. old to adults. Institutions and organizations include Youth Farm, Highpoint Center for Printmaking, Juxtaposition Arts, Henry High School, Saint Paul Academy, and Carondolet private school.
