David R. Woolley
I have been interested in photography since I was about 8 years old, when I was given an old box camera. As a high school yearbook photographer (1970-72) I wandered the school taking candid shots of people. In my twenties I began to think of photography in more artistic terms. My subjects are landscapes, cityscapes, nature, interiors, people, and occasionally abstract creations.
In 2016 I became a weekly photographer for the Powderhorn 365 project.
I'm a writer, and have also dabbled in drawing, cartoons, abstract painting, jewelry, stained glass, music, and other media.
Professionally, I develop software and build websites. In the early 1970s I created one of the first online message boards and co-created the first online chat room, both of which were instrumental in establishing the world's first online community: the PLATO system at the University of Illinois.
