Issue #39.2 |
Forward to a friend
If you like a+E, pass it on!
In this Issue: Breaking Ground
As winter loosens its grip on our state (at last!), we at a+E HQ are finding ourselves keenly interested in the soil again, antsy for the day those early shoots of spring growth really take hold in the yard. I don't know about you, but I'm finding seed catalogs to be as gripping as the thriller on my bedside table these days. It's fitting, then, that this issue's articles center on new growth, as yet unseen vistas, and starting fresh.
PLUS: A new month's worth of podcast episodes from Some Assembly Required and "Floating Worlds," an interdisciplinary dialogue presented by TalkingImageConnection featuring writers' responses to the Soap Factory's Almost Nothing installation by Clive Murphy

Podcast: Some Assembly Required (March 2009)
The standouts this month include a phone interview with Girl Talk and another with the founder of illegal art. There's a fun focus on the subject of spirituality (Episode 226), featuring tracks by a half dozen artists, two of whom we’ve done Q&A’s with recently. Speaking of which, be sure to check out the SAR Blog for our recent Q&A's with Greater Than One, Alex H and DJ Earworm.

Mark your calendars:
TalkingImageConnection is hosting one of their wonderful interdisciplinary salons next week. This one, "Floating Worlds," is an evening of poetry and stories crafted in response to Almost Nothing, Clive Murphy’s air-filled, animated sculpture currently installed in the Soap Factory (which will be heated for the night's festivities).
Writer/performers include Andrea Jenkins, Jen McClung, Meghan Maloney-Vinz, Heidi Rivers, Andy Sturdevant, and Saymoukda Vongsay.
"Floating Worlds" presented by TIC, will be at the Soap Factory in Minneapolis Saturday, April 4, at 8 pm. Admission is free and open to the public.
If you're unfamiliar with TalkingImageConnection, then you're in for a treat. Find out more about this organization by reading Geoff Herbach's engaging profile, "Marriage Made in Heaven." |
