As infants, we become ourselves in our unique home environment. We grow up, move out and move on, but with time we feel that tug back, finding that we are tethered to the place that nurtured and developed us.

In I Hope We Go Together,
Carrie Thompson returns to her grandparents’ place in a small town,
drawn by her grandfather’s Alzheimer’s disease. She finds that his
condition is also reflected in their deteriorating home town that has
lost its significance and reason to go on.

Although the images in Erika Reitzel’s Home Series are devoid of a human presence, a residue of the occupants’ lives and history remains, enhanced by her play of light and color.
