Orin Rutchick, Founder, Executive Director, Board Chair
Orin Rutchick is the founder and Executive Director of the Mpls Photo Center. A 1974 graduate of the Minneapolis College of Art and Design, Orin has 35 years of experience as a photographer, graphic designer, art director, creative director and executive in business management.
He is a 2006 recipient of the McKnight Photographic Fellowship Award.
In September of 2008, with the announced closing of the Minnesota Center for Photography, a local photography center, Orin founded MPC to accommodate a community with over 400 member photographers.
Herman Milligan, Board Member
Herman Milligan is currently an independent consultant specializing in marketing research, competitive intelligence, and non-profit organizational development and has over twenty years of experience working in the financial services industry.
Herman also currently serves on the Board of Directors/Advisory Boards for Artspace Projects, Inc., Minneapolis; Independent Feature Project of Minnesota, St. Paul; The Soap Factory, Minneapolis; Art of This, Minneapolis; Interact Center for the Visual and Performing Arts Minneapolis; Seattle 911 Media Center, Seattle; SF Camerawork, San Francisco; SOO Visual Arts Center, Minneapolis, and I Do My Part, Inc., Tallahassee. His previous arts-related board service has been with the Minnesota Museum of Art, St. Paul and Milkweed Editions Press, Minneapolis.
Tom Reiter PA, Chair Board Member
Tom Reiter is the founder, President and CFO of Reiter & Schiller, P.A., a 60 person law firm specializing in representing holders of collateralized debt obligations and related State and Federal Court litigation. Mr. Reiter has over 25 years of experience as a practicing attorney in Minnesota and is currently of counsel at Reiter & Schiller, P.A.
Tom is also the founder, President and CFO of Vision Ventures, Inc., a closely held corporation engaged in a variety of entrepreneurial pursuits. Mr. Reiter received his law degree from William Mitchell College of Law (1983) and B.A. degrees in personnel administration and inter-personal communication from the University of Minnesota (1978).
Abby Rutchick, Managing Director & Advisory Committee Chair
Abby Rutchick is the Managing Director of Mpls Photo Center specializing in member relationships and operations. Prior to working at the Center, Abby spent 24 years as Vice President of Merchandising for Creative Kidstuff, Inc. a multi-chain specialty toy retailer.
Abby is equipped with a great understanding of working with people, the operations of running a business and what it takes to get things done.
She comes to Photography at the Center with a strong background in business. She works with P@TC Friends to ensure that they have a smooth and rewarding experience. Abby has a great understanding of working with people and helping them succeed.
Laura Crosby, Advisory Committee
Laura Crosby has worked for more than two decades as an agent for social change. Her photographs document the lives and dignity of people marginalized by illness and cultural position.
She is a past recipient of grants from the Jerome Foundation and The Minneapolis State Arts Board.
Crosby has served on the following board of directors; Relate, Enablers, Planned Parenthood of Minnesota, Film In The Cities, WATCH, Traffic Zone Center For Visual Art, Minnesota Center For Photography, Jefferson Center, Minnesota Women's Campaign Fund and pARTS
Currently she serves on the; Foundation for The Exhibition of Photography, Design Education Modus Operandi/Center For Design Thinking.
Bouky Labhard, Advisory Committee
Bouky Labhard was born in Athens Greece and holds a degree from Ecole Des Arts Decoratifs, Geneva, Switzerland, with in Architecture and Interior Design. She is currently a Twin Cities fine arts photographer.
She has served as President, Edina Montessori School; Minneapolis, President, Montessori Federation; Minneapolis, President, Alliance Francaise; Minneapolis, President, Decorative Arts Council, Minneapolis Institute of Arts; Minneapolis, President, Council of Councils, Minneapolis Institute of Arts; Minneapolis, Co-Chairperson, Antiques Show and Sale.
Tom Arndt, Advisory Committee
Tom Arndt has persistently chronicled everyday life in Minnesota since the early 1970s.
His work is in the private collections of the Museum of Modern Art, New York, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, Art Institute of Chicago, Museum of Contemporary Photography, Chicago, Minneapolis Institute of Art, George Eastman House, Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Walker Art Center, Hallmark Collection, Houston Museum of Fine Art, Margulies Collection, Miami and the General Mills Collection.
