Bloomington Artist to exhibit New Works at the Minnesota Valley Wildlife Refuge
SandraMuzzy, a Bloomington resident, artist and teacher for the past 25 years, will be having an exhibit this Spring at Minnesota ValleyWildlife Refuge, 3815 American Boulevard East in Bloomington. The exhibit is entitled "Nature's Treasures" or playfully ""The stuff I bring home in my pockets after a walk". She will be showing all newwatercolors, monoprints and relief prints. The show will run from 2 April till 31 May. Hours are Tuesday - Sunday from 9 - 5. An opening reception will be held on Sunday 29 April from 1 - 3 and refreshments will be served. Most of Sandra's time is spent trying to capture, up close and on paper, those things in the natural world that intrigue her the most. The repetition of simple organic shapes are reflected in her paintings from debris on the ground all the way up to nests in the trees. What catches her fancy is sometimes a spring ephemeral, maybe a hardy weed in the cracks or even a feather dropped by a busy bird on itsway to more important tasks. She brings you up close to these simple treasures and asks you to take the time to enjoy them.
When Sandra isnot painting she teaches watercolor at a variety of venues in the Twin Cities including Eloise Butler Wildflower Garden and the University of Minnesota Landscape Arboretum and at her own home studio.. This Fall shewill be teaching a watercolor journaling workshop at the Bloomington Art Center in conjunction with the Minnesota Watercolor Society. Her works can be seen at www.sandramuzzy.com
