Knotless Netting/Looping
Learn an ancient technique of thread manipulation used by numerous
cultures to create fabrics ranging from open and stretchy to firm and
dense. Pacific Islanders use looping for openwork bags and small
pouches; a Scandinavian variation called Nalbinding is used for mittens
and socks. Looping can also be an edge finish for other textiles. Learn
a variety of stitch textures to create two styles of small bags. The
only tool needed is a large tapestry needle. Materials fee $5, payable
to the instructor.
