Explore the never ending world of twills! Expand your vocabulary to
include straight draw, point, advancing, rosepath, gooseye, undulating,
fancy, herringbone and more. Gain confidence in reading and
understanding drafts, and maybe even create one of your own! Students
will learn the basic building blocks of the threading, tie-up and
treadling patterns associated with this versatile weave structure. Using
either a 4- or 8-shaft loom, students will apply the concepts learned
by completing a sampler “gamp”, a scarf, a set of coordinating
placemats, or other twill project of their choice. Handout fee $10,
payable to the instructor. Yarn is available for purchase at the Guild.
