Point Tap Festival to Celebrate its Third Year

After seeing incredible growth in its second year, Point Tap Festival invites tappers of all abilities to participate in the 2012 session at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point Thursday-Saturday August 9-11, 2012.

Registration is now open for the event, which will be led by internationally-renowned faculty including Josh Hilberman, Lynn Schwab, Thelma Goldberg, Mark Yonally, Jeannie Hill and Brandi Coleman. Options range from the full festival at $350, a half festival at $225 and single class registrations for $29. Early-bird discounts of $50 are offered for the full and half festival registrations if received by June 1.

“These faculty members are excited to return to Stevens Point this year for the Tap Festival,” states Festival Director Jeannie Hill, associate professor of theatre and dance at UW-Stevens Point. “It’s exciting to see the festival gearing up for its third year. We also have an option again for the Saturday Mini-Fest, which was very popular last year for participants who are unable to attend during the work week and is open level, which means that you don’t even need tap experience to participate.”

This year’s festival will again end with a faculty Festival Show at 8pm on Saturday, August 11 in the Noel Fine Arts Center Studio (Room 136). The public is invited to attend and may purchase tickets at the door for $15 per person.
