TEN BY TEN Rochester Art Center will feature 100 small (10” x 10”) original works of art. The works will be on display during Rochesterfest (June 17 – 22) and each piece will be available for purchase to benefit art center public programs including Flux, Art for Lunch, kidDISCO, and Free Thursdays. The first 100 works submitted before June 15, 2012 will be accepted for inclusion in this group show/sale. Guidelines for Submission • Finished artwork must be exactly 10” x 10” square (no smaller, no larger). 3D works must not extend beyond 10” deep. Works smaller or larger will be rejected. • Submitted works will be mounted to a 10” x 10” corrugated cardboard square for presentation. If you would like to create your work directly on the cardboard, blank pieces are available for pick-up at the art center during public hours. If your work cannot be mounted to this surface, it must be delivered “wall ready” with appropriate hardware. (see “Wall-ready” in Display Information on the next page) • Completed work must weigh no more than 2 pounds. All artwork will be presented on the glass walls of the Art Center’s Grand Lobby using a secure installation system that does have a 2 pound weight limit. • All artwork will be available for purchase at a flat fee of $50 on a first-come, first-serve basis the during the week of Rochesterfest (June 17 – 22). Proceeds from sale of all works benefit Public Programs at Rochester Art Center. • All works will remain on display for the duration of the show (June 17 – 22), and will be marked as sold when purchased. Purchased works will be available for pick-up at a public reception at Rochester Art Center following the Rochesterfest Parade (7:30 pm) on Friday, June 22. All uncollected works will be available for pick-up during art center public hours between June 23 – July 1. Works may be shipped to the buyer for an additional fee. • Should an artist’s work not be purchased, the artist will be notified and responsible for picking up the work. Unsold works will be held for pick-up until July 1; after this date, unclaimed works will be discarded. Rochester Art Center is not responsible for returning unsold works to the artist. • Each artist may submit up to two pieces. A diptych will count as TWO pieces and sold as such. Keep in mind that all works will be displayed one above the other with space in between (see Figure 2 in Display Information on the next page). No exceptions to this presentation format will be made. • All works must be submitted by 5 pm on Friday, June 15th. Artists from outside the Rochester, MN area may mail submissions to the address below. Mailed submissions must be received by Friday, June 15th. • Each artist must provide their name, contact information, title of work, year executed, and medium on the following form at the time of drop-off. The form is also available at www.rochesterartcenter.org. • All artwork submitted becomes the property of Rochester Art Center. Submission of work constitutes an agreement that Rochester Art Center may use the work for any promotional purpose, including photographs.
