Registration deadline is Monday, July 16.Age: 18+; some litho experience required; intermediate level and upCourse Description: This one-week intensive at Highpoint will be modeled after the 4-week Plate Lithography workshop offered at Tamarind. Through demonstrations and hands-on learning, students will acquire knowledge about processing and printing from ball grained aluminum plates and photo positive plates. Ink mixing, roller control, paperk, drawing materials and proper use of the hand presses will also be part of the curriculum. Plenty of theory, practice, and discussion about lithography will satisfy anyone's craving about litho, so bring your notebook and enjoy.About the Instructor: Rodney Hamon has been the education director at Tamarind Institute since 1999 and earned his master printer certification in 1987. From 1996 to 1998 he taught printmaking at the University of New Mexico. From 1988 to 1995 he worked at three different shops from Arizona to Texas and established his own studio in Golden, New Mexico. He also trained to make hand-made paper in the Twinrocker tradition from 1993 to 1995. Hamon earned his MFA from the University of New Mexico in 1991 and his BA from Chico State University in 1979. Rodney teaches and trains the Tamarind Printer Training Program and also teaches the summer aluminum plate workshop held every year.
